REV 2026: "How I Built This Sports Club"

Sprocket Sports hosted REV: The Conference for Youth Sports in Philadelphia this month with successful clubs from across the country sharing ideas and best practices. If you missed REV, be sure to watch the recording or listen to the podcast from our “How I Built This Sports Club” discussion featuring Colleen Magarity Kelly, Owner & Director, HHH Philly Girls Lacrosse, and Brian Kraft, Director of Operations, Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Soccer Club.

Two successful clubs. Two very different profiles. One is for-profit, one is non-profit. One is lacrosse, the other soccer. One has one team per age group, the other has 60+ teams. One was founded in 2016 and the other in 1950. Although they’re very different, many key elements of building and growing these successful clubs are alike. Watch the REV recording or listen to the podcast as they discuss among other things:

  • The definition of club “success”: player retention, player development
  • Key growth factors: camps and clinics, creating community
  • How to cut expenses/increase revenues: using an all-in-one platform (Sprocket!) to reduce the number of vendors, volunteer opt-out fees
  • Managing coaches: leverage former players, assign a Director to mentor and oversee coaches
  • Lessons learned along the way: the importance of communication and dedicated social media resources
